First up, we’d like to feature some of the terrific photographic work of Paul Talbot / 23rd Studios.  You’ll find 23rd Studios here: http://www.23rdstudios.com and you can find them on Twitter, Flickr, etc.  These photos appear at RaceVista with permission, and cannot be copied/printed/sold without contacting 23rd Studios for permission.  Looking for all of their CX Nationals photos? You should check out their Flickr gallery here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/23rdstudiosboulder/sets/72157639563211406/with/11899844876/

This photo immediately caught our attention, and appears on our Gallery page as well.

At Race Vista, we’re strong proponents of equalizing the visibility of women’s cycling, which is every bit as exciting as men’s cycling.  For that reason, we wanted to highlight this great photo of women’s winter Katie Compton.  Photo credit: 23rd Studios:

This one is one we selected simply because we like the energy of the charging pack.  Credit again goes to 23rd Studios.

What do you get when you combine snow, mud, a bike race, and a pressure washer? This photo from 23rd Studios tells the story:

Races are ultimately about fun, friends, and a sense of accomplishment.  This great photo by 23rd Studios captures the moment.

Muddy race fun

Video replay of Cyclocross Nationals

If you missed the 2014 Cyclocross Nationals in person, but you’d still like to see the races?  Good news!  USA Cycling has added a full 6-hour video from the Sunday races on their YouTube Channel.  You can find their YouTube Channel here, or we’ve added the video below (just click “play”).

Ten-time champion Katie Compton

Katie Compton has won 10 cyclocross champion titles in a row, including the win at the 2014 Cyclocross Nationals.  Despite a strong and significant crowd of fiercely competitive and accomplished female elite racers, Katie Compton took the victory.  See her interview from USA Cycling’s YouTube channel below.  You can read more about it at VeloNews, here: http://velonews.competitor.com/2014/01/news/katie-compton-claims-10th-u-s-cross-crown_313089 or at Cyclocross Magazine, here: http://www.cxmagazine.com/katie-compton-elite-women-win-at-the-2014-national-cyclocross-championships-elle-anderson-report-photos-full-results

Stair-hopping Cody Kaiser

Some of you may have heard of the stair-hopping technique employed by U23 racer Cody Kaiser.  If you haven’t seen it yet, you owe it to yourself to check it out!  It’s almost like a combination of trials /successive bunny hops while still “rolling” up a giant stair run.  Remarkable.  The video below comes from Cyclocross Magazine via their YouTube channel.  You can also check out the inteview here: http://www.cxmagazine.com/cody-kaiser-internet-superstar-explains-hopping-technique-fame
